Facilitate a change management process between the directors of research and key staff from BC’s research community to streamline the processing of clinical ethics applications- Goal
Amalgamate four different complex ethics review processes for human clinical trials into one process acceptable by the provincial government and the research community. - Audience
Directors of Research and key staff of UBC’s Office of Research Services, Children’s Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital, BC Cancer Agency and Vancouver General Hospital. Researchers from various institutions. - Outcomes
Uniform web-based solution allowed multiple contributors to create, access and update information in a distributed environment, speeding up the review, tracking and reporting of ethics applications (RISe project).
Technology
Enhance service delivery processes by capturing field support data and turning customer support into a revenue center- Goal
Enable remote engineers to receive and submit complex call management workflows to fulfill customer initiated service requests without using SAP. Call resolution data was used to aid in product development and to enable customer billing. - Audience
700 world-wide distributed service engineers, customer support teams and senior management. - Outcomes
Off-line Outlook/Exchange solution enabled the integration of conflicting business processes. Recognized by SAP and Microsoft as the first such implementation.
Manufacturing
Identify current IT costs based on actual usage and implement a shared services model- Goal
Implement a charge back system to distribute all IT costs back to actual users, identified per service and volume. - Audience
Senior management, operations managers and accounting personnel in 323 North American production facilities. - Outcomes
Shared services model built on SAP and Catanic (Anafee), allowing for the charge back of IT services to the end users.
